10 Best AI Visibility Tracking Tools for B2B SaaS Teams

10 Best AI Visibility Tracking Tools for B2B SaaS Teams (banner v2)

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Only 14% of marketing and SEO practitioners were tracking whether their brand gets cited in AI and LLM answers, according to a survey of 100 practitioners run in January and February 2026 by a B2B research and reviews platform. (Survey press release, April 2026) It's a small sample, but it matches what you hear on sales calls: plenty of teams talk about AI search, few have numbers.

The software to get those numbers has arrived fast. There are now dozens of trackers that send prompts to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI features and report who got named. Prices run from under $30 a month to six-figure contracts, and the feature pages read almost identically.

This post compares ten of them on what you can actually check: which engines each one covers at the entry price, what the published plans cost, what reviewers said in the last 12 months and which customers are named in public. Every tool gets one verdict, including who should skip it.

If you want the method first (which prompts to track, which numbers to record, how to handle run-to-run noise), read the guide to measuring AI search visibility before you open a single pricing page. This post assumes you know what you want to measure and are now choosing software to do it.

TL;DR

  • Profound - Best for enterprise brands that want the deepest dataset and a sales-led rollout

  • Ahrefs Brand Radar - Best for SEO teams that want instant market-wide AI visibility without building a prompt list

  • Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit - Best for teams already paying for Semrush who want AI data next to their SEO data

  • Peec AI - Best for in-house marketing teams that want a clean, daily tracker with unlimited seats

  • Otterly.AI - Best for small teams and solo marketers who need a cheap, credible starting point

  • Scrunch - Best for enterprises that want tracking plus site diagnostics and an agent-facing version of their site

  • AthenaHQ - Best for teams that want ten engines on one plan and a list of actions, not just a dashboard

  • Rankscale - Best for technical users and agencies that want wide engine coverage on a credit budget

  • Writesonic - Best for lean teams that want tracking and content production in one subscription

  • Similarweb AI Brand Visibility - Best for teams that care as much about AI referral traffic as about mentions

How we chose

We started with every AI visibility tool that came up repeatedly in practitioner posts on X, in G2's AI search categories and in the documentation of the big SEO suites. Then we cut the list down using four tests:

  • The product has to be live and sold today, with a pricing page or a clear sales path we could check in October 2026.

  • It has to track brand mentions or citations across at least three AI engines, including at least one of Google's AI features.

  • Pricing has to be published, or the vendor has to say plainly that it's quote-only. Tools that hide everything behind a form with no indication of scope didn't make it.

  • There has to be some public evidence that real companies use it: named customers, case studies, or a review base on G2 or a comparable site.

We didn't run a paid benchmark across all ten. Instead, we read each pricing page and help center, checked G2 listings (or their mirrors when G2 blocked us), pulled public posts from practitioners on X from the last 12 months, and noted wherever a vendor's marketing and its plan pages disagree.

Two honest limits. First, every tool here measures its own prompt set on its own schedule, so a "visibility score" from one vendor can't be compared with another's. Second, how a tracker collects answers (through an API, a browser session, a particular location) can affect what it sees. In our view that makes the sampling method a buying question, not a footnote. Ask each vendor how many runs it takes per prompt and where it runs them from.

Nothing in this list is a paid placement, and none of these vendors reviewed the draft.

1. Profound

Screenshot of the Profound homepage

Profound is the best-funded company in the category. It raised a $96 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation on February 24, 2026, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. (Profound, Fortune) Its pitch has widened from tracking to an "AI Marketer" that researches, writes and reports, but answer-engine tracking is still the core.

Features

  • Answer Engine Insights tracks how your brand and competitors appear across AI platforms: citations, sentiment, ranking and competitive presence.

  • Enterprise plans track up to nine answer engines, with custom prompt plans, regions and languages.

  • Prompt Volumes is Profound's own dataset estimating how often topics come up in AI conversations. Treat it as a model of demand, not a count, since no engine publishes query volumes.

  • Agent Analytics tracks AI crawler and AI-sourced traffic through integrations with Cloudflare, Vercel, Akamai, AWS, Fastly, Netlify, WordPress and Google Analytics.

  • Agents run credit-based marketing workflows (research, briefs, drafts) on top of the tracking data.

  • Exports in CSV and JSON, an API, SSO/SAML and SOC 2 on Enterprise.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on Profound's pricing page:

  • Trial: free. 50 prompts run daily for 7 days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with a recommended prompt set you can't edit.

  • Enterprise: custom pricing. Up to nine engines, editable prompts, dedicated support and unlimited seats.

  • The FAQ also mentions a self-serve "Agency Growth" plan with 400 agent credits per client workspace, but the page doesn't print its price.

Older roundups and some X posts still quote a $99 or $399 self-serve plan. Neither appears on the current page, so don't budget off them.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.5 out of 5 from 1,128 reviews (G2, checked October 16, 2026).

  • Latest reviews: G2 reviews mirrored on AWS Marketplace are dated as recently as October 5, 2026.

  • One reviewer on October 3, 2026 wrote: "I can see what ChatGPT and other AI tools are saying about it, which sources they rely on, and where my brand is missing compared with competitors."

  • G2's own summary of the reviews notes a steep learning curve for people new to AI analytics.

  • On X, creator and founder Ryan Robinson called Profound "a genuinely strong tool" that's "built with enterprise in mind" in an October 13, 2026 post, then said he uses a cheaper tool for his own work. (Ryan Robinson on X)

Clients

Profound's February 2026 press release names Figma, Walmart, Ramp, MongoDB, Chime and U.S. Bank. (GlobeNewswire) Its pricing page carries a quote from Skye Scofield, marketing lead at Statsig.

Summary

Profound is the safe enterprise pick. The depth is real, the customer list is real, and the review base is the largest of any specialist here. The catch is that the useful version is a sales conversation, and the free trial won't let you edit prompts, so it can't tell you much about your own buying questions.

It's not for you if you're a seed or Series A SaaS team that needs to start tracking this month on a known budget.

2. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Screenshot of the Ahrefs Brand Radar homepage

Brand Radar is Ahrefs' AI visibility product, and it works differently from most tools on this list. Instead of only tracking prompts you write, it maintains an index of hundreds of millions of prompts built from Ahrefs' keyword data and shows any brand's visibility across them, with no setup.

Features

  • The AI Visibility Index covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. The product page listed 481 million+ prompts on October 16, 2026. (Ahrefs)

  • Custom Prompts track the exact questions you choose, on a cadence from monthly to daily per platform, and add Claude to the list of engines.

  • Metrics include mentions, citations, share of voice against competitors and cited pages.

  • It sits alongside YouTube, TikTok and Reddit visibility data (free while in beta for Ahrefs customers) and Ahrefs' search data.

  • An MCP connection lets you pull the data into an AI agent.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on the Brand Radar page and Ahrefs' pricing guide:

  • Custom Prompts: from $50 a month for 2,500 checks (about 83 prompts a day), with overage at $0.02 per check. The page also says custom prompts are included free for every paid Ahrefs Lite plan and above.

  • AI Visibility Index: from $199 a month per AI platform, or $699 a month for all platforms.

  • Brand Radar can be bought standalone, without an Ahrefs subscription, and only monthly unless you're on Enterprise.

  • No free trial is listed.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.5 out of 5 from 713 reviews for Ahrefs as a whole (G2, checked October 16, 2026). That rating covers the full SEO suite, not Brand Radar specifically, and we couldn't isolate Brand Radar reviews.

  • Latest review date: not visible to us, as G2 blocks automated access to its review pages.

  • On X, Ahrefs CMO Tim Soulo argued on September 25, 2026 that the prebuilt index lets agencies produce AI visibility reports "INSTANTLY" instead of waiting weeks for custom prompt data. (Tim Soulo on X) He's the vendor, so read that as the pitch, but the point about setup time is fair.

Clients

The Brand Radar page features a case study with Laura Lancu, SEO growth specialist at Octopus Energy, and says it's "used by 3,000+ companies." (Ahrefs)

Summary

Brand Radar is the best tool here for seeing a whole market at once. You can check a competitor's AI visibility in minutes, which no prompt-only tracker can do. The index is built from search keywords, though, so it's weaker for niche B2B questions that nobody types into Google.

It's not for you if your category is small and your buyers ask long, specific questions. In that case you'll lean on Custom Prompts anyway, and a dedicated tracker may be cheaper.

3. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Screenshot of the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit homepage

Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit adds AI search reporting to the Semrush platform. Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on April 28, 2026, so this is now an Adobe product. (Semrush)

Features

  • Brand Performance reports run common queries through LLMs and analyze how your brand is mentioned, the tone used and the attributes AI associates with you.

  • Prompt Tracking monitors specific prompts day by day on platforms such as Google AI Mode and ChatGPT.

  • Mentions are reported from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity on the base plan. (Semrush pricing)

  • An AI Search Site Audit flags technical issues that could stop AI crawlers reading your pages.

  • Competitor analysis and prompt research, using Semrush's wider data.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on Semrush's AI pricing page and knowledge base:

  • AI Visibility Toolkit: $99 a month per domain, billed annually. Includes 25 custom prompts tracked daily, 300 AI analysis reports per day and one domain for Brand Performance.

  • Add-ons: extra domains or locations at $99 each per month; 50 more prompts for $60 per month; extra users at $99 per license.

  • Bundles: "SEO + AI Search" Starter at $199 a month ($165.17 billed annually) and Pro+ at $299 a month ($248.17 billed annually).

  • Semrush's knowledge base says the AI Visibility Toolkit has no free trial.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.4 out of 5 from 4,034 reviews for Semrush overall (G2, checked October 16, 2026). As with Ahrefs, this is the whole platform, not the AI toolkit.

  • Latest review date: not visible to us.

  • We found no recent, verifiable reviews specific to the AI toolkit worth quoting.

Clients

The Semrush AI visibility solutions page shows logos including Adidas, Amazon, CVS, Grammarly, Mailchimp and Mastercard. (Semrush) Those logos may reflect Semrush customers generally rather than buyers of this specific toolkit.

Summary

If your team already lives in Semrush, the toolkit is the shortest path to AI visibility data: same login, same projects, AI numbers next to keyword numbers. Twenty-five daily prompts is a thin allowance, though, and every add-on costs extra, so the bill climbs quickly for multi-product SaaS companies.

It's not for you if you don't already use Semrush. Paying for a suite to get a 25-prompt tracker is the wrong way round.

4. Peec AI

Screenshot of the Peec AI homepage

Peec AI is a Berlin-based tracker built only for AI search, and it's become the default suggestion in many practitioner threads for in-house teams. It prices by tracked prompts, not seats, which matters if more than two people need access.

Features

  • Daily tracking of visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice against competitors.

  • You pick three engines per plan from ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini, with extra engines as add-ons.

  • Source analytics show which domains and URLs AI answers retrieved, classified as competitor, editorial, reference or UGC.

  • Gap analysis flags sources that mention competitors but not you.

  • Brand perception features include attribute scoring and fact-checking AI answers against facts you set about your brand.

  • Prompt suggestions, intent classification, an API on Pro and above, an MCP connection, and a Looker Studio connector on higher tiers.

  • Unlimited seats on every plan.

Pricing

Peec's pricing page shows prices by region and didn't render numbers in our fetch on October 16, 2026, so these figures are second-hand and may be out of date:

  • Starter: €85 a month for 50 prompts, 3 models, unlimited users and daily tracking, per OMR Reviews' Peec listing (pricing last edited March 2026).

  • Pro (€205 a month, or €180 annually) and Advanced (€425, or €360 annually) were recorded by an independent price tracker that read Peec's page on October 9, 2026. We couldn't reopen the tracker to recheck them.

  • Enterprise: custom. A one-week free trial is listed on OMR.

Confirm the live price in your region before you buy.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.7 out of 5 from 21 reviews, as reported by Tech from Europe on October 7, 2026 (G2 blocked our direct fetch). Peec's own footer says 4.7.

  • OMR Reviews: 4.8 out of 5 from 18 reviews (OMR Reviews, checked October 16, 2026).

  • Latest review date: not visible to us.

  • That's a small review base. Read it as "early customers are happy," not as a settled verdict.

Clients

Peec names Zalando, Attio, Squarespace, Brevo, Hugo Boss, n8n, TUI, Wix and Fielmann as customers. (Peec AI) It also publishes case studies with Merge, an integrations company, and Momentum, a data platform. (Merge case study)

Summary

Peec is the tracker we'd shortlist first for a B2B SaaS marketing team of three to ten people. It's focused, the data on sources is useful, and unlimited seats means sales and product marketing can look without you paying per head. The three-engine cap is the trade-off, and the add-ons to lift it change the maths.

It's not for you if you need every engine, multiple countries on a starter budget, or a tool that writes the fixes for you.

5. Otterly.AI

Screenshot of the Otterly.AI homepage

Otterly.AI is the cheapest credible way into this category. It's been around since 2023 and pitches itself at solo marketers and small teams, with an agency program on top.

Features

  • Daily tracking of brand mentions, visibility and sentiment.

  • Covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on every plan, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as paid add-ons.

  • Citation source tracking shows which pages AI answers link to.

  • GEO URL audits, a crawlability audit and a content check, plus a query fan-out tool.

  • Unlimited team members on all plans.

  • MCP access from the Standard plan up, and a Looker Studio connector.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on Otterly's pricing page, monthly billing:

  • Lite: $29 a month, 15 prompts.

  • Standard: $189 a month, 100 prompts.

  • Premium: $489 a month, 400 prompts.

  • Enterprise: custom, from 1,000 prompts.

  • Extra engines are add-ons. Google AI Mode costs $9, $59 or $149 a month depending on plan; Gemini $59 or $149 (Standard or Premium); Claude $29, $109 or $439.

  • 100 extra prompts cost $99 a month on Standard and Premium.

  • A free trial is available.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.7 out of 5 from 54 reviews (G2, checked October 16, 2026).

  • OMR Reviews: 4.8 out of 5 from 56 reviews (OMR Reviews).

  • Latest reviews: G2's German-language seller page shows reviews dated June 2026.

  • G2's summary says reviewers like the interface and support, and that some found the sentiment analysis "occasionally hyper-sensitive."

  • On X, Ryan Robinson said on October 13, 2026 that Otterly "covers the same major engines at $29 a month" as pricier tools and has "become my daily driver," mostly for its Claude connector. (Ryan Robinson on X)

Clients

Otterly publishes a case study with Instant Commerce, whose team uses its brand reports and prompt tracking across ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity. (Otterly) Its case studies page lists further examples.

Summary

Otterly is the right first tool for most small teams. $29 gets you real daily data on four engines, which is enough to learn whether AI search is a problem worth a bigger budget. Fifteen prompts is a sample, not a program, and the add-on pricing for Gemini and AI Mode means the "cheap" plan stops being cheap once you want full coverage.

It's not for you if Gemini and AI Mode matter most to your buyers and you need 100+ prompts. Price the add-ons first.

6. Scrunch

Screenshot of the Scrunch homepage

Scrunch started as an AI visibility monitor and grew into a broader platform. Sitecore, the digital experience software company, announced it had acquired Scrunch on June 3, 2026. (Sitecore) Bloomberg put the deal at about $225 million, citing unnamed sources. (Bloomberg) Scrunch says it will keep running as a standalone platform. (Scrunch)

Features

  • Monitoring of mentions, citations, position and sentiment across prompts, with funnel stages, personas and competitors.

  • Site audits and a site map view of how AI systems consume your pages.

  • AI agent and bot traffic tracking.

  • AI Search Trends for topic-level demand.

  • AXP (Agent Experience Platform), Enterprise only, serves AI agents a structured version of your site. That's a content-delivery decision for whoever owns your site, not a reporting feature, so evaluate it with them.

  • Query API, Looker Studio, CLI and MCP access on Enterprise.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on Scrunch's pricing page:

  • Core: $250 a month. 125 prompts, 5,000 responses a month, 5 site audits, 1 brand, 5 user licenses, 1 country. Covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot.

  • Enterprise: custom. Nine engines (adding Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok), unlimited countries, API access and a dedicated account team.

  • 7-day free trial on Core.

Reviews

  • G2: we couldn't confirm a rating or review count from a neutral source (G2 blocked our direct fetch), so we've left it out.

  • Latest review date: not visible to us.

Clients

Scrunch says it's "trusted by 500+ leading brands and agencies" on its pricing page, but customer names there are logo images we couldn't verify as text. We've left named customers out rather than guess.

Summary

Scrunch is the most technical platform on this list and, now inside Sitecore, the most enterprise-shaped. If you want monitoring, bot traffic and site diagnostics from one vendor, it's a strong pick. Core is pricey for four engines, though, and Gemini, Claude and AI Mode sit behind a sales call.

It's not for you if you want to track a few dozen prompts across all the major engines on a self-serve plan. And if you're signing an annual deal, ask about the post-acquisition roadmap first.

7. AthenaHQ

Screenshot of the AthenaHQ homepage

AthenaHQ is a Y Combinator company that leans hard on action over reporting. Its pitch is that visibility gaps should become tasks for your content team, not just charts. It's also one of the very few tools here with a genuinely free tier rather than a time-limited trial.

Features

  • Tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot on the free tier; Starter adds AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.

  • Prompt and response analysis, sources and competitor insights.

  • An Action Center with on-page and off-page recommendations and a content optimization agent.

  • Integrations, CSV export and unlimited members.

  • Enterprise adds multi-region and multi-language tracking, SSO and an API (a paid add-on on Starter).

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on AthenaHQ's pricing page:

  • Essential: free, with 300 credits (described as $25 of free credit). One credit is one AI response.

  • Starter: $295 a month for 3,600 credits, with 17% off on annual billing.

  • Enterprise: custom.

  • API access and extra credits are add-ons on Starter, priced on request.

Do the credit maths before you commit. Twenty prompts across ten engines is 200 credits per run, so 3,600 credits buys about 18 full runs a month.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.9 out of 5 from 46 reviews (G2, checked October 16, 2026).

  • AthenaHQ shows G2's Spring 2026 High Performer badge on its site.

  • Latest review date: not visible to us.

  • G2's AI summary of the reviews mentions a learning curve and no industry prompt templates as the main complaints.

Clients

Logos on AthenaHQ's homepage include Coinbase, PagerDuty, Checkr, Nextiva, OneSignal, Hearst, HexClad and Delta. (AthenaHQ) We found the names in the page's image labels; we didn't find case studies for each.

Summary

AthenaHQ is the best value if you want lots of engines without per-engine add-ons, and the free tier lets you run a real baseline before spending anything. The gap between free and $295 is wide, and a credit model punishes sprawling prompt sets.

It's not for you if you need multi-country tracking on a self-serve plan, or if your budget sits somewhere between $50 and $250 a month.

8. Rankscale

Screenshot of the Rankscale homepage

Rankscale is a smaller, Austria-founded tracker that appeals to technical users and agencies. It bills on credits that you can spread across brands, and it covers more engines at its entry tiers than most tools on this list.

Features

  • Engines listed on the pricing page: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude and Copilot.

  • Each query costs a fraction of a credit (typically 0.25), with pricier engines costing more. Unused credits roll over.

  • Brand and citation tracking, sentiment analysis and dashboards with Looker Studio sharing.

  • REST API on Pro+ and above, white-label options for agencies.

  • A credit calculator on the pricing page lets you model prompts, engines and frequency.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on Rankscale's pricing page:

  • Essentials: from $17 a month, billed yearly only (shown against $20).

  • Pro: $99 a month, 1,200 credits. 7-day free trial.

  • Pro+: $229 a month, 3,000 credits, with REST API access.

  • Growth: $385 a month, 5,500 credits, aimed at agencies.

  • Enterprise: $780 a month, 12,000 credits.

  • Annual billing saves 15%.

Reviews

  • We couldn't find a review base we'd rely on: no G2 page loaded for Rankscale, and the OMR Reviews listing didn't load for us.

  • Latest review date: unknown.

  • Treat the lack of reviews as a sign of a young product, not as a negative signal about quality. A trial is the only real test.

Clients

Customer logos on Rankscale's homepage include Cloudbeds, Global Payments, Milliman, n8n, O2, SiteGround, Facile.it and Washmen. (Rankscale) As with AthenaHQ, these come from image labels, not case studies.

Summary

Rankscale gives you the widest engine list for the least money, and the credit model is flexible if you track several brands. You'll need to manage credits deliberately, and the thin review record means you're taking more on trust than with other tools here.

It's not for you if your procurement team needs a deep G2 profile, or if you want a tool that tells you exactly what to change.

9. Writesonic

Screenshot of the Writesonic homepage

Writesonic began as an AI writing tool and now sells itself as an AI search visibility platform with content tools attached. Its pricing page describes tracking "across 9 AI platforms" on higher plans and "Self-serve from $99/mo."

Features

  • AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on the entry plan, with more platforms on higher tiers.

  • Sentiment analysis and an Action Center on Growth, aimed at prompts where competitors are recommended instead of you.

  • An AI article writer (15 articles a month on Starter) and site audits.

  • Agentic workflows (limited trial runs on lower plans).

  • Looker Studio data sources and SSO/SAML on Enterprise.

Pricing

Checked October 16, 2026 on Writesonic's pricing page:

  • Starter: $99 a month monthly, or $79 a month billed annually. 1 user, 1 project.

  • Basic: $249 a month monthly, or $199 annually. 2 users.

  • Growth: $399 a month annually ($499 monthly), with sentiment analysis and the Action Center.

  • Enterprise: custom.

  • Free trial with no credit card required.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.7 out of 5 from 2,128 reviews (G2, checked October 16, 2026). G2 still files Writesonic under "AI Writing Assistant," so most of these reviews are likely about the writing product rather than visibility tracking. We couldn't separate them.

  • Latest review date: not visible to us.

Clients

Writesonic's pricing page carries a testimonial from "Simon, Head of Marketing, Maestra." (Writesonic) We didn't find independent confirmation of the results quoted alongside it.

Summary

Writesonic makes sense if you want one subscription for tracking and for producing the content that fixes gaps. The tracking on the entry plan covers three engines, which is narrow for the price, and the review base mostly reflects its writing roots.

It's not for you if you already have a content process and just want clean, broad tracking. A dedicated tracker will cover more engines for the same money.

10. Similarweb AI Brand Visibility

Screenshot of the Similarweb AI Brand Visibility homepage

Similarweb's AI Brand Visibility sits inside its AI Search Intelligence package, next to an AI Traffic module that estimates visits from LLMs to your site and your competitors' sites. That pairing is the reason to look at it.

Features

  • AI Brand Visibility covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity, with daily updates. (Similarweb)

  • Prompt tracking with the latest AI responses, citation analysis by domain and URL, and sentiment by topic.

  • AI Traffic estimates referral traffic from LLMs, including platforms such as Grok, Claude and Copilot, for your site and competitors.

  • Higher tiers add Similarweb's SEO, competitive intelligence and ads data.

Pricing

From $99 a month, per Similarweb's AI search page on October 16, 2026. That entry plan (AEO Intelligence) includes 1 user, 150 tracked prompts and 3 months of history. Similarweb's full pricing page blocked our fetch, so we haven't listed higher tiers or monthly-billing prices. A free trial is offered.

Reviews

  • G2: 4.4 out of 5 from 1,204 reviews for Similarweb overall (G2, checked October 16, 2026). These cover the whole platform, not the AI module.

  • Latest review date: not visible to us.

Clients

The AI Brand Visibility page shows logos including Adidas, Carrefour, Skyscanner, Virgin, Walmart and The Economist. (Similarweb) These may be Similarweb customers generally.

Summary

Similarweb is the pick when your boss asks "is AI sending us traffic, and is it sending more to them?" Mentions plus competitor traffic estimates answer that better than any pure tracker. One user and 150 prompts on the entry plan is tight, and traffic estimates are modeled, not measured.

It's not for you if you need multi-seat access on a small budget, or if you only care about what answers say, not where visitors come from.

How to choose an AI visibility tracking tool

Start from your situation, not from feature lists. Here's how we'd decide.

You haven't tracked anything yet

Don't buy anything for a month. Run 30 or so buyer prompts by hand, as the AI search visibility measurement guide explains, and read the answers. Then pick the cheapest tool that covers the engines your buyers use. For most teams that means Otterly Lite or AthenaHQ's free tier.

You're a B2B SaaS team with a modest budget and a few stakeholders

Peec AI is the obvious shortlist. Unlimited seats, daily tracking and good source data for under €100 a month. Check that three engines is enough; if your buyers lean on Gemini or AI Mode, price the add-on now rather than later.

You already pay for Ahrefs or Semrush

Try what you've got first. Ahrefs' Custom Prompts are included with paid Lite plans and above, and Semrush's toolkit plugs into your existing projects. If the data answers your questions, you've saved a vendor. If you hit prompt limits or engine gaps, add a specialist.

You need to see a whole market, fast

Ahrefs Brand Radar's index is unmatched for this. You can benchmark yourself and five competitors across hundreds of millions of prompts on day one, with no waiting for history to build.

You're an enterprise brand with procurement, SSO and many markets

Profound and Scrunch are built for you. Profound has the bigger review base and dataset; Scrunch has the deeper technical and agent-traffic angle and now Sitecore behind it. Ask both how they sample, how many runs they take per prompt and whether you can export raw answer text.

Your leadership cares about traffic and pipeline, not mentions

Similarweb is the most direct answer, because it pairs mentions with AI referral traffic estimates for you and competitors. Whatever tool you use, connect it to your own analytics; the measurement guide covers how to tie visibility to pipeline.

You want the tool to tell you what to do next

AthenaHQ and Writesonic lean furthest into actions and content. Treat their recommendations as a starting point. The fixes that move AI answers are usually clearer product pages, consistent facts across your site and better third-party coverage. The posts on what AEO is, how AEO differs from SEO and what GEO means explain why.

You run an agency or manage several brands

Rankscale's pooled credits, Otterly's agency workspaces and Peec's multi-project plans all fit. Agencies should also look at how each tool exports branded reports, since that's where hours disappear.

Questions to ask any vendor

  • Which engines are on the plan I'm buying, not the top tier?

  • How many times is each prompt run, how often, and from which country?

  • Can I see and export the full answer text and the cited URLs?

  • How are mentions told apart from citations?

  • What happens to my history if I change plans or prompts?

  • If a competitor shows up in an answer, can I see which source put them there?

A vendor that can't answer the second question clearly is selling you a score you can't trust.

FAQ

What is an AI visibility tracking tool?

It's software that sends a set of prompts to AI assistants and AI search features (usually ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode) on a schedule, then records whether your brand was mentioned or cited, how it was described and which competitors appeared. Most also show the sources the answers drew from.

How much do AI visibility tools cost?

Entry plans on this list run from about $17 a month (Rankscale Essentials, billed yearly) and $29 a month (Otterly Lite) to $250 a month (Scrunch Core) and $295 a month (AthenaHQ Starter). Enterprise contracts at Profound, Scrunch and others are quote-only. Watch for per-engine add-ons and prompt caps, which often matter more than the headline price.

Can I track AI visibility for free?

Partly. AthenaHQ has a free tier with 300 credits, Profound offers a 7-day trial, and several others have short trials. You can also run prompts by hand in each engine and log the results in a spreadsheet. For a small prompt set, that's a perfectly good starting point.

Which AI engines should I track?

The ones your buyers use. Every tool above lists its engines per plan, so check that the entry plan covers them; the measurement guide covers how to pick prompts and engines.

Are AI visibility scores accurate?

They're consistent with themselves, not with each other. Each vendor uses its own prompts, engines, locations and sampling, so a 40% score in one tool and 25% in another can both be right. Watch the trend inside one tool rather than comparing numbers across tools.

Do these tools help me get cited by ChatGPT?

Not directly. They show where you're missing and which sources competitors are cited from. The work of getting cited (clear pages, structured data, third-party mentions) is separate. The guides to getting recommended by ChatGPT and schema markup for AI search cover that side.

Final thoughts

There's no single best AI visibility tool, and anyone who tells you otherwise is probably selling one. The right pick depends on your budget, the engines your buyers use and whether you need a market map, a daily tracker or a to-do list.

Our honest advice: start small, read the raw answers yourself, and only scale the tooling once you know what you're looking for. Prices and plans in this category change often, so check each vendor's page on the day you buy.
