Last updated: October 23, 2026
In a January 2026 survey of more than 3,000 CRM purchase decision-makers, published by a CRM software company in September 2026, 42% said they used AI search while evaluating vendors. Those buyers were 36% more likely to purchase than the ones who didn't.

That's the shift SaaS SEO agencies are now selling into. Your buyers still search, but a growing share of them ask an assistant for a shortlist first, so an agency that reports only on rankings is measuring half of what matters.
The agency in this review pitches itself as AI search first, with revenue as the scoreboard. We checked its claims against its own site, its Clutch profile and public posts from the last 12 months, all on 18 Oct 2026. We haven't worked with it, so treat this as a desk review.
Quick take
Skale is a good choice for growth-stage and mid-market SaaS companies that want SEO, AI search visibility and link building run by people who've done the job in-house. One co-founder built SEO at Typeform and ran demand generation at TravelPerk. Its recent Clutch reviewers describe outcomes in signups, qualified leads and AI visibility, not traffic alone.
Where it's weaker is transparency on scope and price. Its only published price is a "starts at $4,000" line in a blog post, quarterly business reviews are reserved for larger retainers, and some headline results are undated. None of that is a deal-breaker. It just means the website won't show you the real shape of the engagement, so expect to learn it on a sales call.
If Skale's model doesn't fit your budget or stage, our list of Skale alternatives compares five other options.

Who's behind Skale
The founders are the main reason buyers shortlist Skale, so it's worth knowing who they are.
Jake Stainer has worked in SEO since 2009. According to Skale's team page, he joined Typeform in 2015, built its growth marketing team from one person to 12, and grew SEO signups from zero to more than 30,000 a month. He then led demand generation at TravelPerk.
Italo Viale previously grew another search agency and has worked with brands like Danone, Shopify, Glovo and Typeform, per the same page.
The rest of the team leans heavily toward off-page work. The team page lists a head of off-page SEO, several link building and outreach specialists, a senior GEO and SEO specialist, organic growth strategists and a head of marketing and content. That shape tells you where the agency's muscle is: strategy plus a large outreach engine.
How a Skale engagement works
Skale describes a five-step loop on its SEO services page.
Agree on outcomes. You pick a North Star metric, such as pipeline, CAC efficiency or demo volume, and Skale builds a 12-month growth model around it.
Build a 90-day roadmap. The first three months of work are planned as a sprint and tied to KPIs.
Execute. Strategists, content producers and outreach specialists ship the work, with live dashboards and weekly updates.
Test and measure. Each quarter, the team runs CRO and search result experiments and uses a statistical framework to judge them.
Scale what works. Topic clusters, link velocity or AI search work get more budget as results show up.
Some practical details from the same page are useful when you're comparing agencies:
Skale will publish content and make on-page changes directly in Webflow, WordPress, HubSpot or a custom CMS.
Every engagement starts with a technical audit, followed by deep re-audits every six months or after a migration or redesign.
Reporting includes weekly Slack updates, Looker Studio dashboards, forecasting, attribution modelling, CAC payback analysis and AI search visibility.
A typical month brings four to 12 content briefs, mixing new topics and refreshes.
Services are modular. You can start with strategy only and add content or links later.
Skale's services
The SEO services page lists six core pillars:
SEO growth strategy, run in three-month sprints
AI search optimization across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, with weekly tracking and sentiment analysis
Content production and optimization, including comparison pages, alternatives articles, guides and glossaries
Link building and outreach, with a live campaign dashboard and work on unlinked brand mentions
Conversion rate optimization, from search result title tests to on-site experiments
Digital reporting and measurement
Add-ons include AI search audits, topic research, on-page optimization, CRO experiments, programmatic SEO, YouTube SEO and website migrations.
The Clutch summary is tighter. It names four lines of work, with AI search and SEO consultancy first, then AI brand mentions, content production and link building. Its Clutch service mix puts generative AI work at 45%, ahead of SEO at 25%. Most of the older reviews on its profile are about link building campaigns, so that's a real shift, and it matches how the 2026 reviewers describe their projects.

What Skale costs
Skale doesn't publish a price list on its site. These are the public price signals:
Skale's own blog, in a roundup written by co-founder Jake Stainer and updated Oct 2, 2026, lists its pricing as "starts at $4,000". It doesn't say whether that's monthly or per project.
Clutch lists a minimum project size of $5,000+.
Clutch's most common project size for Skale is $10,000 to $49,999, based on seven reviews that disclosed a budget.
One 2026 reviewer from a learning management software company reports a $50,000 to $199,999 engagement.
Our read: small strategy-only or link building scopes probably start around the $4,000 to $5,000 mark, and full programs with content, links and AI search work cost several times that. Go into the first call with a budget range and ask what it buys at each level, including whether quarterly business reviews are included. Skale's FAQ says those are for "clients on larger retainers".
If you'd rather compare published prices before a call, our Skale alternatives list includes agencies that post theirs.
Results Skale reports
These figures come from Skale's own site and Clutch profile, so treat them as the agency's claims.
Happy Scribe went from 2,700 to 70,000 monthly signups, per Skale's SEO page, and its Clutch profile says cost per organic signup fell from €7.15 to €0.08 across 558 links.
Maze grew monthly organic signups by 283% in six months, with more than 200 backlinks.
Jitter went from 22% to 55% AI brand coverage in four months.
Meridian, a CRM for private equity firms, doubled its demo requests.
Attest, Flodesk, Piktochart and Slite also appear on the homepage with signup and demo growth figures.
Two flagship stories, Rezi and Holded, are worth a closer look. Per Skale, it grew Rezi's SEO-driven revenue and significantly grew Holded's organic signups. The exact figures differ between the homepage and the SEO services page, so we've kept them in words. If either story is close to your situation, ask Skale for the time frame and baseline behind it.
The homepage also says that in "less than 3 months" clients have "already increased New Biz MRR". Treat that as a sales promise rather than a forecast. Results depend on your domain, your market and how fast you can approve and publish.
What Clutch reviewers said in 2026
We opened Skale's Clutch profile on 18 Oct 2026, and it showed 4.9 out of 5 from 20 reviews, with a 4.7 rating for cost. The four reviews from the last 12 months were all posted in October 2026, and the latest is dated Oct 16, 2026.
Those four reviewers report:
An organic discovery manager at Cookiebot, part of Usercentrics, says brand mentions in AI assistant answers grew after an engagement that began in May 2026, with Skale tracking citation share across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Most priority high-intent keywords reached top positions within the quarter. Skale also wrote a Spanish-language knowledge hub of more than 100 articles for the company.
The co-founder of readywhen says Skale ranked its strongest non-brand page and "turned visitors into signups", with an average position of around six for competitive terms.
The CMO of an AI-powered MRP software company reports brand mentions up 22.6% in Google AI Overviews and 18.5% in ChatGPT since July, with citations of its pages in AI Overviews up 38.8%. This reviewer gave 4.5 stars.
A growth marketing manager at a learning management software company reports "a substantial increase in qualified leads from AI sources". Their one request was to "improve organisation of the many documents and reports".
Clutch's own summary of the reviews says clients find Skale's pricing competitive and good value, and credits it with SEO results, visibility and qualified leads. Sixteen of the 20 reviews were posted before 2026, so if you want to see how the newer AI search work holds up over time, ask for a reference whose engagement has run longer than a year.
What people say on X
Most mentions of Skale on X in the last 12 months are job ads and roundups. A few posts stand out:
In September 2026, a freelancer who works on AI and marketing systems answered a founder's question about SaaS SEO help by naming Skale alongside two other content agencies, as an alternative to "generalist agencies that sell fluff blogs and backlink packages".
In November 2025, an account that lists Skale in its bio described the agency's approach as "model demand" and "map effort to impact". That's the agency talking about itself, so it carries a stake.
Neither is a review, so we haven't given them much weight. They do show the same pipeline-first pitch from the agency and from someone recommending it.
Where Skale is strong
The founders have done the job in-house. Building SEO at Typeform and demand generation at TravelPerk gives Skale a feel for SaaS funnels that generalist agencies lack.
Revenue is the scoreboard. Homepage testimonials and 2026 Clutch reviews both talk about signups, leads and revenue more than traffic.
AI search is now core. Recent reviews describe tracking brand mentions and citation share, and the Clutch service mix leads with generative AI work.
Link building is a real strength. Skale has a large outreach team, and its Happy Scribe and Maze case studies both lean on links.
It fits into your stack. Skale will implement in your CMS, report weekly in Slack and keep a live dashboard.
You can start small. Strategy-only engagements are possible, and services are modular.
It works in Spanish too. Clutch lists English and Spanish, and one 2026 reviewer had a full Spanish knowledge hub written by Skale.
Where Skale falls short
You can't price it from the website. The only published figure is a blog line with no unit or scope attached.
Strategic reviews scale with spend. Quarterly business reviews are reserved for larger retainers, so a smaller engagement may get less senior time.
Content volume is modest by design. Four to 12 briefs a month suits a quality-first plan, but not a team that needs to publish heavily.
Some headline results lack context. Homepage figures aren't dated, and two flagship case studies show different numbers on different pages.
Reporting can pile up. One October 2026 reviewer asked for better organization of documents and reports.
It's built for tech. Clutch lists 100% of its industry focus as information technology, so non-tech companies should look elsewhere.
